The Eastbourne Gazette has 3 cycling related stories this week.
We start with the news that the Tour of Britain is set to run through Hailsham, Eastbourne and Seaford in September.
There was only one cycling related letter in the Eastbourne Gazette this week, and it wasn’t very favourable.
T Marrish of Arundel Road claims that cycling will be permitted on the lower prom as far as Holywell. This is incorrect. Eastbourne Borough Council have voted to amend the byelaw banning cycling on the prom, to add a clause that will permit cycling in designated areas. These areas would be from Fishermans Green to the Healy Shelter (opposite Cambridge Road), and from The Pier to The Wish Tower along the top prom. The lower prom, and the route to Holywell will maintain the cycling ban.
Eastbourne Gazette – We will have to be vigilant.
Finally the news that an “intimidating” driver has been fined for bullying cyclists on the A27.
