On Saturday 4th July 2015, a bicycle ride along the Coastal Cultural Trail took place.
Bespoke, together with Bexhill Wheelers, Hastings Urban Bikes, The Towner Gallery, The De La Warr, and the Jerwood Gallery joined forces on the fact finding ride.
We have recorded a video of the ride so you can share our findings.
We saw how shared use on Bexhill promenade works, and how a segregated path on the prom works in Hastings. Look out for the tactile surfaces used on Hastings promenade. We also heard about Bexhill Wheelers suggestion for a path between Cooden and Normans Bay, along the lines of a similar path along the River Exe in Devon.
The Coastal Cultural Trail joins 3 galleries, The Towner in Eastbourne, The De La Warr in Bexhill and the Jerwood in Hastings. In total, it’s about an 18 mile bicyle ride, with large sections off road, mainly between Bexhill and Hastings.
We all had a lovely day, and most of us will be riding the route again with our families and friends.
