East Sussex County Council approved the extension of the Horsey Cycleway last week.
The extension will run from the existing path at Birch Road to the Langney Roundabout. There will also be a spur to Seaside and Tollgate School.
The route provides a high quality traffic free path for pedestrians and cyclists.
There was one objection made to the Planning Committee about the loss of parking. Removal of 7 spaces on Seaside will allow widening of the path and a new crossing built. Councillors decided parking was not a reason to halt construction.
Meads Councillor Barry Taylor spoke in favour of route. St Anthony’s Councillor David Tutt also sent his support to the committee.
