Police Appeal to identify man who died on The Cuckoo Trail in Eastbourne

Police in Eastbourne are trying to identify a man who sadly died on The Cuckoo Trail, near to Golden Jubilee Way, on Wednesday (8 June).

A passer-by saw the man on the floor by his bike at around 5.45pm. He was treated by paramedics but he passed away at the scene.

The man is believed to be in his late 60s or early 70s, 6′, of medium build, with short grey hair, and no tattoos or identifying scars.

He was wearing brown shorts, a blue/green/yellow checked short sleeve shirt and a fluorescent yellow jacket. He had with him a blue Raleigh bicycle and a white bike helmet

Coroner’s officer Bob Greenall said: “The man had no physical injuries and we are not treating the death as suspicious.

“He had no form of identification on him, nor a mobile phone and no next of kin has yet come forward.
